The perfect little disk sander for model building.

In this episode of Teckhactics, we're going to be building the perfect little disk sander for modeling. Whether you're building planes, trains, or automobiles, having a reliable and efficient sander is key to getting those precise finishes we all strive for.

So, let's get started. First up, we need a small motor. Lucky for me, I had a 24-volt motor laying around the house, but any small motor should do the trick. Next, we'll design a motor mount using Fusion360. This will give us a sturdy base to work with.

Once the motor mount is designed, we'll attach a 2-inch sanding disk that I found on Amazon using a coupler. The disk should fit snugly onto the motor shaft to ensure a smooth and even sanding surface.

Now, we need to mount our little sander onto a small board for stability. This will make it easier to handle and provide a solid foundation for all of our sanding needs.

After testing it out, we'll want to add a bracket to place the item we are sanding on. This will keep it stable and help us maintain accuracy while working.

And there you have it, a miniature electric sander for plastic models that is perfect for those hard-to-reach places. We'll continue to refine the design to make it even better and more efficient, but for now, this should get you started on your sanding journey.

Thanks for watching, and as always, stay curious and keep exploring!
